NEW YORK Lisa Harrison has been appointed senior vice president of communications at the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) effective Jan. 14, filling the role vacated by Nancy Gravatt.
Harrison was previously vice president of communications for the American Chemistry Council for five years, was responsible for a $25-million advertising and advocacy campaign and was also involved in strategic communications and media relations operations. Prior to that she was acting assistant secretary of public affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Gravatt, who was with AISI for 15 years, will become the National Mining Associations senior vice president of communications.
