NEW YORK — TMS International Corp. has elected Leon Heller as its next executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, effective Jan. 1.

Heller—who has worked at TMS since 1991 and is currently senior vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary of the company’s mill services group—takes the reins from Thomas Lippard, who is retiring. Lippard, who has served in his roles since 1997, will continue to work with the company in a consulting role.

"On behalf of the board of directors, our employees and shareholders, we thank Tom for his 42 years of total service to the company," said Raymond Kalouche, who will become president and chief executive officer, also effective Jan. 1 (, Oct. 31). "Tom’s experience, vision and drive have been key factors in the successful evolution of this company."
