CHICAGO — Urban Steel LLC has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation, listing steel, service and equipment suppliers as some of its biggest unsecured creditors.
The Austin, Texas-based distributor estimated both its assets and liabilities at between $100,000 and $500,000, company president Kenneth Urban said in documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in western Texas.
Among Urban Steel’s unsecured creditors are construction-focused service center Triple-S Steel Holdings Inc., Houston, owed $15,325; HK Fastener & Supply LLP, Austin, Texas, owed $2,673; and United Rentals Inc., Greenwich, Conn., owed $25,684.
A creditors’ meeting is scheduled in Austin for Jan. 11, according to court documents.
