NEW YORK — Severstal North America Inc. has joined other domestic steelmakers in increasing its prices for flat-rolled products by $20 per ton ($1 per hundredweight).
The Dearborn, Mich.-based steelmaker has increased base prices for all carbon flat-rolled steel products effective immediately, Severstal told customers in an e-mail Monday. It didn’t send out an official price change notice, it said in the e-mail.
It follows similar increases in published prices late last week by Nucor Corp. (amm.com, Dec. 6) and ArcelorMittal USA Inc. and AK Steel Corp. (amm.com, Dec. 7).
