LONDON Extruder Brazeway Inc. plans to install a new press in the second quarter, a company executive has told AMM.
Brazeway will add the extrusion press at its Hopkinsville, Ky., location in May, according to Saumin Mehta, director of sales and business development for the Adrian, Mich.-based company.
The press, Brazeways seventh, will be either an 8- or 9-inch press, he added, declining to comment on capacity volumes.
The expansion plan comes as Brazeway is expecting continued growth next year from two of its key end marketsheating, ventilation and air-conditioning components (HVAC) and automotive, Mehta said.
"Weve had significant growth over the last few years. HVAC continues to transition from copper to aluminum, and we expect that demand will continue to go up. Were looking ahead to make sure we have enough capacity for our current and potential customers," Mehta said.
Brazeway also serves the refrigeration appliance market, which the company expects to be relatively flat next year, he said.
