ATI raises electrical extra; AK flat

NEW YORK — AK Steel Corp. has kept its grain-oriented electrical steel surcharge for February at $280 per ton ($14 per cwt), unchanged from January’s level, according to the West Chester, Ohio-based company’s website.

Meanwhile, ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp., a division of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc., has raised its grain-oriented electrical steel surcharge to $362 per ton ($18.10 per hunderweight) effective with Feb. 1 shipments, up 2.3 percent from January’s $354 per ton ($17.70 per cwt).
