CHICAGO Olympic Steel Inc. has announced several changes to its executive and operating management teams in a move intended to support its mid- and long-term strategic growth initiatives.
Richard A. Manson, a 17-year veteran of Olympic, has been named vice president and treasurer. Manson previously served as director of taxes and risk management, treasurer and corporate controller and, most recently, as vice president of human resources and administration.
Olympic has named John Mooney to the newly created post of vice president and general manager, mid-states, with responsibilities for Olympics Detroit; Cleveland; Dover, Ohio; and Mount Sterling, Ky., operations. Mooney has been with the company since 1989, most recently serving as general manager for Olympics Cleveland division and its satellite facilities.
The company has also named 13-year veteran Michelle Pearson-Casey director of human resources.
Bedford Heights, Ohio-based Olympic Steel sells and distributes processed carbon, coated and stainless flat-rolled sheet, coil and plate steel and aluminum products from 33 plants throughout North America.
