LONDON — Bob Katsiouleris has been appointed general manager of commercial operations at Nyrstar NV, replacing Maarten De Leeuw as he takes on another role within the company, AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin understands.
Katsiouleris joins the Switzerland-based zinc miner from Rio Tinto Plc, where he served as chief commercial officer of its titanium, diamond and borax business.
In this role, he held responsibility for global sales, marketing, and research and development for Rio Tinto Minerals, as well as strategic raw materials procurement initiatives.
He will relocate to Nyrstar’s Zurich headquarters from Denver, Colo., and is set to start in January.
Katsiouleris takes over from De Leeuw as he relocates from Switzerland to the Netherlands to take on a new role that will be announced in the first quarter.
