LONDON — DCM Decometal GmbH will sell its Albanian Chrome (ACR) assets to Albanian investment group Balkan Finance Investment Group (Balfin), a DCM official told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.

Fuerstenfeld, Austria-headquartered DCM, which has its own trading arm, will keep the marketing rights for ACR products in Austria and Germany.

The company announced in September that it was seeking to offload non-core assets and was considering bringing in a joint-venture partner for ACR.

Metal Bulletin reported in November that ACR had attracted three bidders, two of which would be joint-venture partners and one that would acquire the entire assets.

ACR’s Elbasan plant produces 3,000 tonnes of high-carbon ferrochrome per month. It also has the capacity to produce around 1,500 tonnes of low-carbon ferrochrome per month.

A version of this story was first published on AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.
