NEW YORK A federal judge heard arguments Thursday in a dispute between ThyssenKrupp Steel USA LLC and contractor United Forming Inc.
The Calvert, Ala.-based steelmaker filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Alabama, claiming that Austell, Ga.-based United Forming is responsible for more than $75,000 worth of defects at its Calvert rolling mill (
amm.com, Dec. 12).
The hearing also addressed a counterclaim from United Forming, which alleges the subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp AG still owes it $11.7 million for work it performed at the mill.
Judge William E. Cassady has not yet made a ruling on either matter, according to Alabama court documents.
Counsel for United Forming said that it would not comment as it awaits the judges ruling, while counsel for ThyssenKrupp Steel USA did not respond to a call for comment.
