NEW YORK K. Alan Dick, executive vice president and chief executive officer of global recycling at Aleris International Inc., is leaving the company.
Dick will be replaced by Terrence Hogan, Aleris senior vice president and general manager of recycling and specification alloys Americas, and Russell Barr, the companys vice president and general manager of recycling Europe, who will jointly assume Dicks role.
Both will report to Aleris chairman and chief executive officer Steve Demetriou.
"Given the dynamics of the recycling business, we believe this regional leadership structure is more effective for this business segment," Demetriou said in a statement Tuesday. "As the largest merchant aluminum recycler and supplier of specification alloys in the United States and Europe, Aleris Recycling continues to be a strategically important part of our business, and we are confident that these changes will only enhance our ability to meet customer needs."
Hogan has been senior vice president and general manager of recycling and specification alloys Americas since 2006, while Barr most recently served as vice president and general manager of the companys extrusions business. Aleris appointed Mike Keown vice president and general manager of extrusions after 15 years with the company.
Dick spent 14 years at Aleris in a variety of divisions, including rolled products, global metals procurement and metals sourcing, as well as recycling. His plans are not known.
