NEW YORK Alcoa Inc. has named William Oplinger chief financial officer effective April 1.
Oplinger will take over from Chuck McLane, who plans to officially retire Aug. 1 after 40 years with the Pittsburgh-based producer.
Oplinger has been chief operating officer of Alcoas global primary products business unit since December 2011 (amm.com, Nov. 15, 2011). He joined the company in 2000 and has held a variety of roles, including director of investor relations.
Robert Wilt will succeed Oplinger as chief operating officer of global primary products.
McLane has been executive vice president and chief financial officer since September 2007. He joined Alcoa in 2000 as director of investor relations following Alcoas acquisition of Reynolds Metals Co. He joined Reynolds in 1973 and held a variety of roles there, including assistant treasurer and assistant controller.
