NEW YORK Copper rod
producer AmRod Corp. has resumed normal production at its
facility in Newark, N.J., after a temporary furnace shutdown,
AMM has learned.
Production at the rod mill
restarted Jan. 12, a source familiar with the operation told
"They had to shut it down
(because of) furnace problems. I believe its back up
now," a trader said.
AmRod declined to comment.
The furnace shutdown led to some
additional buying "but didnt result in any big business,"
a second trader added.
AmRod produces copper rod used
for wire and cable products covering all gauges and
surface-quality grades. End-markets served include
communications, magnet wire, industrial and building, according
to the companys website.
