CHICAGO Ali Rashid has resigned as a member of Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp.s board of directors.
Rashid resigned Jan. 16, the Franklin, Tenn.-based aluminum producer said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated Jan. 22.
No reason was given for the resignation in the filing, and Noranda declined to comment Jan. 22.
Noranda on Jan. 17 elected Ronald S. Rolfe, a retired partner at New York-based law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, as an independent director of the board, it said.
