NEW YORK — Nucor Corp., NLMK USA Inc. and Severstal North America Inc. have joined a price hike on flat-rolled steel.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor and NLMK USA, Portage, Ind., have increased flat-rolled steel product prices by a minimum of $50 per ton ($2.50 per hundredweight), effective immediately.

The increase in base prices by Nucor’s sheet mill group applies to hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized products, and the hike by NLMK USA is on all products, the companies said in Jan. 24 letters to customers.

Dearborn, Mich.-based Severstal also told customers on Jan. 24 that it is setting minimum published base prices for hot-rolled coil at $650 per ton ($32.50 per cwt), cold-rolled at $750 per ton ($37.50 per cwt) and galvanized products at $760 per ton ($38 per cwt) "for all orders not yet acknowledged or confirmed."

The moves follow similar carbon flat-rolled product increases by other steelmakers on Jan. 21 (amm.com, Jan. 22) and Jan. 23 (amm.com, Jan. 23).
