CHICAGO — Aluminum Association president Heidi Brock has been elected to the board of directors of the Council of Manufacturing Associations, a division of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

Brock will serve a three-year term on the board, whose members also include Ed Youdell, president and chief executive officer of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International, and Stephen Gold, president and chief executive officer of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, the Arlington, Va.-based Aluminum Association said Jan. 23.

“Manufacturing is vital to the national economy, and aluminum is a key part of that industrial base,” Brock said in a statement.

Brock was named president of the Aluminum Association in October 2011. She previously served as vice president of federal and international affairs at Federal Way, Wash.-based forest products company Weyerhaeuser Co. Prior to working at Weyerhaeuser, Brock was a legislative assistant to former U.S. Senators Daniel J. Evans and Slade Gorton, and was responsible for natural resources issues (, Sept. 7, 2011).
