NEW YORK Evraz Inc. North
America has received board approval to expand heat-treat
capacity by 150 percent and threading capacity by "about 40
percent" at its Calgary, Alberta, tubular facility, the company
said Jan. 25.

"The Calgary expansions will
allow us to offer a more comprehensive product portfolio to
meet growing needs for premium OCTG (oil country tubular goods)
product," according to Tigran Atayan, executive vice president
of Chicago-based Evraz NAs tubular products group.
The mill, which has an annual
capacity of about 300,000 tons, makes both OCTG and line pipe,
the companys website states.
Evraz NA announced the expansion plan in May (
