NEW YORK Tenaris SA will supply Brazilian oil company Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) with large-diameter casing pipe with premium connections for use in deepwater applications for the next five years.
Tenaris products "can increase the efficiency of running operations in these challenging offshore conditions," Luxembourg-based Tenaris said.
Petrobras recently entered into a five-year deal with pipe and tube maker V&M do Brasil SA, a subsidiary of Boulogne-Billancourt, France-based Vallourec SA, covering seamless pipe, steel grades and connections used for offshore oil and gas production (amm.com, Jan. 9).
Rio de Janeiro-based Petrobras plans to spend about $236.5 billion between 2012 and 2016, including $141.8 billion for energy exploration and production.
