LOS ANGELES Flat-rolled steel producer California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI) has realigned its sales management team in the wake of a veteran staffers departure.
Al Plummer, most recently listed as the Fontana, Calif.-based companys manager of southern service centers and original equipment manufacturing, is leaving the company "to pursue new challenges," executive vice president of commercial Ricardo Bernardes told customers in a letter.
Plummer, one of three regional managers who report to Bernardes, was with CSI for 28 years.
Amid his departure, four CSI outside sales representatives have been given new titles in four new regions, two of which are outside the companys major West Coast market. Reed Reynolds was promoted to manager of the West region; Peter Broderick is now manager of the central-west region; Steven Howard has been named manager of the Pacific Northwest region; and Richard Sambrano is now manager of the Midwest region.
"The new regional structure has been implemented to better service our customers while allowing us to closely monitor and adapt to market needs," Bernardes said.
It is not clear at this time if a replacement for Plummer will also be named. A CSI spokeswoman couldnt be reached for comment.
