CHICAGO — Timken Co. has appointed Thomas G. Webb chief engineer of oil and gas in the company’s steel segment.

Webb joined Timken in 2000 as a principal process improvement engineer at the Faircrest and Harrison steel plants in Canton, Ohio. He most recently served as unit manager of process improvement for scrap and steelmaking. He has held other positions in scrap and melting process improvement.

Canton-based Timken produces semifinished steel, special bar quality and seamless tubing products, as well as bearings.
