NEW YORK DLA Strategic Materials sold 1,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome and 643 tons of low-carbon ferrochrome for a combined $2.83 million in January.
The material was sold to the ferroalloys arm of Cincinnati-based David J. Joseph Co.; Medima LLC, Clarence, N.Y.; Glencore Ltd., Stamford, Conn.; and DCM Decometal GmbH, Fuerstenfeld, Austria.
The Fort Belvoir, Va.-based agency also sold 161,000 pounds of tungsten ores and concentrates to an undisclosed buyer for $2.2 million.
DLA made no ferromanganese sales despite offering 3,145 tons of high-carbon ferromanganese from its depots in Warren, Ohio, and Point Pleasant, W.Va. (amm.com, Jan. 9).
