PITTSBURGH — U.S. Shredder & Castings Group has designed, produced and installed a new automated fluff-loading system that eliminates the need to handle the material twice while reducing emissions and costs.

The Trussville, Ala.-based company’s automotive shredder residue loading system is able to automatically load downstream shredder fluff into four 20-foot open-top containers or two 40-foot trucks.

A front-end loader is no longer needed to handle the processed fluff, which reduces dust, and the new system also lowers operating costs because the fluff does not have to be manually loaded.
