NEW YORK — Aluminum fabricator and distributor Tubelite Inc. will open a regional facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas in the second quarter.

The Walker, Mich.-based manufacturer and supplier of architectural aluminum storefront, entrance and curtainwall systems is now selecting a site for the 25,000-square-foot-plus facility.

"This new facility will allow us to provide even faster lead times and damage-free shipments to our existing customers in the region through the use of on-site CNC machining for door and frame fabrication, as well as warehousing stock products," Tubelite president Ken Werbowy said in a statement Feb. 12.

Tubelite fought off competition from 12 companies to purchase the extrusion equipment of Sanford, Fla.-based Benada Aluminum Products LLC last year ( amm.com, Sept. 11).

Tubelite, a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Apogee Enterprises Inc., has its primary distribution, warehousing and assembly operations in Walker, Mich., while its Reed City, Mich., facility houses the company’s aluminum extrusion operation ( amm.com, Dec. 28, 2007).
