NEW YORK Molybdenum oxide prices have ticked up slightly after producers achieved marginally better prices amid steady demand.
Molybdic oxide moved up to a range of $11.30 to $11.60 per pound from $11.25 to $11.50 previously, while ferromolybdenum widened to a range of $12.70 to $13 per pound from $12.70 to $12.90.
One foundry supplier, who said that he had purchased ferromolybdenum at $13 per pound, described consumer demand as still relatively flat. "The melting rate hasnt changed," he said.
"Weve been trading in this range for the last couple of months, and I dont expect it to change in the near future," one producer source said.
