NEW YORK Domestic copper production fell to 88,600 tonnes in November, down 1.3 percent from 89,800 tonnes the previous month, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
Production through the first 11 months of the year totaled 873,600 tonnes, down 2.7 percent from 898,200 tonnes in the same period a year earlier.
Brass mill production also fell in November to 77,200 tonnes, down 1.8 percent from 78,600 tonnes in October, and wire rod output fell 1.9 percent to 103,000 tonnes from 105,000 tonnes in the same comparison.
Shipments of brass mill products slipped 1.1 percent to 78,100 tonnes in November from 79,000 tonnes the previous month, and wire rod shipments dropped 6.3 percent to 104,000 tonnes from 111,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, U.S. tin consumption slid 2.7 percent to 1,780 tonnes in November from 1,830 tonnes in October.
