NEW YORK ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. and North American Stainless Inc. (NAS) have boosted their stainless steel surcharges on most grades for March.
Ludlum, a division of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc., set its March surcharge for Type 304 at 81.04 cents per pound, up 3.3 percent from 78.46 cents in February; Type 201 at 52.12 cents, up 2.3 percent from 50.97 cents; and Type 316 at $1.1432 per pound, up 2.1 percent from $1.1193 per pound. However, the Type 430 surcharge will move to 21.53 cents, down 1.4 percent from 21.83 cents per pound in February.
Meanwhile, Ghent, Ky.-based NAS also set its Type 304 surcharge at 81.04 cents per pound, up 3.3 percent from 78.45 cents; Type 316 at $1.1432 per pound, up 2.2 percent from $1.1183 per pound; and Type 201 at 51.39 cents per pound, up 2.3 percent from 50.24 cents. Meanwhile, the Type 430 surcharge shed 1.4 percent to 21.52 cents per pound from 21.83 cents in February.
