CHICAGO — Service center operator Russel Metals Inc. has promoted John G. Reid to vice president and chief operating officer.

Reid, who joined JMS Metals Services Inc. in 1991 and was promoted to president in 1994, has served as president of JMS Russel Metals operations since JMS was acquired by Mississauga, Ontario-based Russel in 2007.
