NEW YORK Outokumpu Stainless USA LLC has raised most of its stainless steel surcharges for March, in line with similar hikes announced recently by other domestic producers.
The Calvert, Ala.-based company set its March surcharges at 81.05 cents per pound for Type 304, up 3.3 percent from 78.46 cents in February; 51.75 cents per pound for Type 201, up 2.3 percent from 50.60 cents; and $1.1437 per pound for Type 316, up 2.2 percent from $1.1187. Its surcharge for Type 430 material, which contains no nickel, has been set at 21.53 cents per pound, down 1.4 percent from 21.83 cents in February.
West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel Corp., Ghent, Ky.-based North American Stainless Inc. and Brackenridge, Pa.-based ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. announced their March surcharges earlier this month (amm.com, Feb. 21 and Feb. 22).
