CHICAGO — Service Center Metals LLC (SCM) has increased prices for all products by 1 cent per pound.

The price hike is effective for all new orders as well as for open orders scheduled to ship on or after March 1, the Prince George, Va.-based extruder said in a letter to customers dated Feb. 28.

The increase does not impact SCM’s firm metal agreements with its customers, the company said.

The boost comes after SCM announced plans in January to reduce market prices by 2 cents per pound (amm.com, Jan. 31).
