NEW YORK — President Barack Obama nominated two new members of his cabinet March 4.
Ernest Moniz, a physicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is Obama’s nominee for energy secretary, replacing Steven Chu.
Moniz will work closely with Gina McCarthy, who was nominated to replace Lisa Jackson as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
The appointments still require confirmation by the Senate.
