MEXICO CITY Mexicos automotive sector produced 246,197 vehicles in February, up 1.6 percent year on year, according to domestic automotive association Amia.
Production for January and February reached a combined 489,052 vehicles, up 9.9 percent from 445,018 in the same year-ago period.
Domestic sales rose 7.3 percent year on year in February to 80,193 vehicles. However, despite the monthly boost, domestic sales still havent surpassed 2002 levels, the association said.
Exports also fell 11.3 percent to 175,338 units in February.
