CHICAGO JW Aluminum Co. has increased its conversion price by 5 cents per pound.
The increase applies to new orders on or after March 11 for alloy series 1xxx and 3xxx sheet products, JW Aluminum said in a March 11 letter to customers signed by chief commercial officer Chester L. Roush.
The move was necessary because of "continued pressure on scrap spreads and limited scrap availability," the Mount Holly, S.C.-based specialty flat-rolled aluminum producer said.
