NEW YORK Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) has received the green light from the U.S. government to complete its previously announced purchase of aerospace forgings producer Unison Engine Components Inc. from General Electric Co., according to a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) document.
The U.S. Justice Departments antitrust division and the FTC have granted early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, essentially approving the deal, a March 12 document shows.
Portland, Ore.-based PCC announced plans to buy Unison Enginebetter known as Tru-Formin June 2011, as it looked to build out its aerospace forgings portfolio (amm.com, June 14, 2011).
