NEW YORK A machine at service center chain Olympic Steel Inc.s Bettendorf, Iowa, facility caught fire in the early hours of March 12, according to the citys fire department.
"It was a small fire in one of the machines. We were called out at 6:45 a.m.," public information officer Lauran Haldeman told AMM. It was unclear what kind of machine caught fire or if production was affected, she said.
The facility offers carbon, alloy and stainless sheet and plate products.
Bedford Heights, Ohio-based Olympic Steel could not be reached for comment.
