NEW YORK Alpert & Alpert Iron & Metal Inc. has hired Alan Dick as president, effective April 1. He replaces Alan Alpert, who will assume a new role as president of Alpert Group LLC.
Dick joins Los Angeles-based Alpert & Alpert from Beachwood, Ohio-based Aleris International Inc., where he was chief executive officer of the global recycling division (amm.com, Jan. 8). He will have responsibility for all aspects of the business operations at Alpert & Alpert.
"We are thrilled to add Alan Dick to our leadership team," Howard Farber, chairman and chief executive officer of Alpert Group, said in a statement. "Our organization has been evolving over the past several years and we believe now is the right time to add someone with external leadership experience to our team."
Family owned Alpert & Alpert recycles nonferrous and ferrous scrap metal in the United States. It also has offices and representatives in China, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
