NEW YORK — Steel Dynamics Inc.’s (SDI’s) Roanoke Bar division has raised prices for all its products by $25 per ton ($1.25 per hundredweight) effective with April 1 shipments, the company said in a March 13 letter to customers.

The increase comes one day after Nucor Corp. raised its prices for steel reinforcing bar, merchant bar and structural products by $25 per ton, based on a $35-per-ton increase in AMM’s consumer buying price for shredded automotive scrap in Chicago. Gerdau Long Steel North America also increased its rebar prices by $25 per ton (amm.com, March 13).
