NEW YORK — Keystone Steel & Wire Co. will raise its prices on wire rod products by $35 per ton ($1.75 per hundredweight) effective with all shipments beginning April 1, according to a March 14 letter to customers.
The price increase comes days after Nucor Corp. raised its prices by $40 per ton (amm.com, March 12) and one day after Gerdau Long Steel North America raised its wire rod prices by $35 per ton (amm.com, March 13).
AMM’s consumer buying price for shredded auto scrap—an industry benchmark for rod prices—settled up $35 per ton (amm.com, March 7) last week.
