NEW YORK — Optima Specialty Steel Inc. chief executive officer Kevin Stevick is set to resign March 29, with board chairman Mordechai Korf tapped to succeed him.

Stevick also resigned from the company’s board of directors March 8, and Optima is in the process of seeking a replacement.

Frank Archer, president of Optima unit Niagara LaSalle Corp., Hammond, Ind., will retire March 29. His responsibilities will be shared among Niagara’s management, a spokesman told AMM.

"As we anticipated these changes for some time, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure a seamless transition and sustained growth," Korf said.

In addition to his new role at Miami-based Optima, Korf is also chief executive officer of Calvert City, Ky.-based CC Metals & Alloys LLC (CCMA) and Miami-based Georgian American Alloys Inc. and Felman Trading Inc.

Georgian American recently acquired CCMA from affiliate Optima Group in exchange for shares (, Oct. 1).
