NEW YORK — Noble Energy Inc. has brought online its Tamar natural gas field off the coast of Israel in the Mediterranean Sea.

All five of its subsea wells are producing at "steady" rates totaling 300 million cubic feet per day, the Houston-based energy company said. The field is expected to reach its designed output of 1 billion cubic feet per day in the third quarter, coinciding with peak summer demand, the Houston-based company said.

The resource estimate for the field has been increased to 10 trillion cubic feet from 9 trillion cubic feet following development drilling and continued reservoir analysis and modeling.
