NEW YORK — Veteran scrap trader Marc Simon has founded M. Simon Metal Trade LLC, a company that will trade in the domestic and export nonferrous scrap markets and offer consulting services to the metals industry.

"After having spent a year out of industry, I felt the time was right to re-enter the market," Simon told AMM. "In my new role, I look forward to furthering the relationships developed over the course of three decades in the metals industry."

Prior to his current venture, which is based in Seattle, Simon spent 27 years as a trader at family owned recycler Joseph Simon & Sons Inc. Tacoma, Wash. The company was sold in 2008, renamed Simon Metals LLC and Simon subsequently left in 2010.
