BSCs (Albas) first-quarter sales, up from 62
percent in the same year-ago period, the company said.
This moves the company closer to
its long-term goal of having value-added products make up 70
percent of its sales, Askar, Bahrain-based Alba said.
The company produced 227,414
tonnes of aluminum in the first quarter, up from 220,738 tonnes
in the corresponding period last year. Sales reached 219,537
tonnes, up from 214,891 tonnes in the same comparison.
"We are pleased with the higher
overall figures for sales and production, ahead of the
companys own forecast for the period, thanks to a focused
marketing strategy and a sustained focus on enhancing
