CHICAGO — Adrian Steel, a Michigan manufacturer of commercial van and truck equipment, is expanding to Kansas City, Mo., to supply parts to Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker Ford Motor Co.

Adrian Steel will spend $4.7 million to lease 11 acres and build a 32,000-square-foot facility and eight-acre logistics center, which it expects to be operational by September.

"The region proved to be ideal for our newest operation," general manager Bob Browns said in a statement April 9. "We ... look forward to contributing to the future of the Ford Transit (commercial van)."
