CHICAGO — Constellium has renamed its three core business divisions in order to better reflect the commercial focus of each unit.

The former Global Aerospace, Transportation and Industry unit has been renamed Aerospace and Transportation, while the former Specialty Sheet business has been given the new moniker Packaging and Automotive Rolled Products, the Paris-based aluminum products company said April 11. Meanwhile, the former Extrusions and Automotive Structure division has been redubbed Automotive Structures and Industry.

While the divisions have new names, each will maintain its current scope of activities and products, Constellium said. The changes are effective immediately.

"These new names reflect more accurately the proximity of our company to its customers and demonstrate the breadth of our solution," Constellium chairman and chief executive officer Pierre Vareille said in a statement.

Constellium, formerly Alcan Engineered Products, is 51-percent owned by affiliates of New York-based Apollo Global Management LLC, 39-percent owned by London-based Rio Tinto Plc and 10-percent owned by Paris-based Fonds Stratégique d’Investissement SA.
