CHICAGO Aluminum wheel
manufacturer Superior Industries International Inc. has named
executive vice president and chief financial officer Kerry A.
Shiba to its board of directors.
Shiba fills a vacancy that
expires in 2014. His appointment will give the board more time
to find an independent director, the Van Nuys, Calif.-based
The move comes as the company is
engaged in a proxy fight and as it looks to spend $125 million
to $135 million on a new plant in Mexico (
amm.com, March 1).
Superior, which operates five plants in the United States
and Mexico, says that it is North Americas largest
manufacturer of aluminum wheels for light cars and trucks.
