CHICAGO Diehl Steel Co. has installed a new plate mill that can custom machine material up to 30 inches wide by 50 inches deep by 12 inches high.
The Cincinnati-based tool and specialty steel distributor can now machine larger sizes of tool steels, alloy steels, high-speed steels, carbon steels, powder metal products and stainless steels to exact specifications and tolerances.
Featuring a 20-inch cutting head, the new plate mill eliminates the ridges that occur when cutting with smaller-diameter heads. The mill will produce Diehls trademarked Accu-Square steel products.
Diehl Steel supplies carbon, alloy, stainless, tool and mold steels, crucible particle metallurgy products, and aluminum products and services. It cuts and machines flats, bars, squares, sheets, plates, drill rods, hollow bars and rounds.
