SÃO PAULO Brazilian ferroalloys producer Cia. de Ferro Ligas da Bahia (Ferbasa) saw revenue fall 24.5 percent year on year in March amid declining ferrochrome and ferrosilicon sales.
Revenue stood at 55.6 million reais ($27.7 million) last month, down from 73.69 million reais a year earlier and 68.38 million reais in February, the Bahia-based company said in a filing with the São Paulo Stock Exchange.
The company sold 20,378 tonnes of ferroalloys in March.
Sales of high-carbon ferrochrome fell 13.6 percent year on year to 13,213 tonnes, while those of low-carbon ferrochrome fell 24.8 percent to 1,456 tonnes.
Ferrosilicon sales reached 5,709 tonnes in March, down 39.8 percent from the same month last year.
