SHANGHAI Chinas cold-rolled coil export volumes rose again in March due to "a strong increase in shipments to South Korea and Southeast Asian destinations," an exporter in Shanghai told AMM sister publication Steel First.
Exports totaled 255,837 tonnes, up 6.2 percent from 240,897 tonnes the previous month but down 17.9 percent from a year earlier, Chinese customs data show. Shipments to Korea more than doubled to 54,124 tonnes from 26,192 tonnes in February.
Traders estimated that the tonnages shipped in April would be around the same level or slightly higher, but could fall in May and June.
