CHICAGO — The Aluminum Association has elected three new members to its board of directors: Etienne Jacques, chief operating officer of Montreal-based Rio Tinto Alcan’s primary metal business in North America; Michelle O’Neill, vice president of government affairs and trade policy at Pittsburgh-based Alcoa Inc.; and Kelly Thomas, senior vice president and general manager for North American rolled products at Beachwood, Ohio-based Aleris International Inc.

The new members "will provide critical insight and input as the board guides association efforts in telling the story of aluminum and its sustainability advantages," Patrick Franc, chairman of the Arlington, Va.-based trade association’s board of directors as well as president and chief executive officer of Louisville, Ky.-based Tri-Arrows Aluminum Inc., said in a statement.
