PITTSBURGH — Liverman’s Metal Recycling Inc. has quietly sold its auto shredder to Empire Metal Corp. for an undisclosed sum.

An employee at Kelford, N.C.-based Liverman’s said the deal closed April 24, but an executive couldn’t be reached for comment.

Suffolk, Va.-based Empire Metal owner Danny Meeks also couldn’t be reached, but confirmed to AMM in early April that he was trying to buy a North Carolina shredder. He said at the time that the company had enough feedstock to run a shredder from its nine feeder yards in Virginia and North Carolina.
