LONDON — Citigroup Inc. has hired Rick McIntire as global head of base metals sales and Dylan Morgan as co-head of base metals trading in London, the company said April 25.

McIntire, who joins the company in mid-July, will report to global head of sales Jose Cogolludo. Morgan joins in mid-May and will report to Jason Tudor. Both were previously at UBS AG.

The news of the hires at the commodities team in London follows a series of appointments at Citigroup’s Houston offices, all of whom joined from Deutsche Bank.

"These hires also follow significant additions to the commodities business at the end of 2012, highlighted by the signing of Jose Cogolludo from BNP Paribas (SA) as global head of sales, a newly created role," Citigroup said.

Andy Zipper will be head of the Nymex gas desk and Hugh Byrd will be head of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (Ercot)/Texas power desk. Jeremy Swancoat is joining as head of natural gas fundamental research.
